Dr. Soleimannejad's research focuses on the construction of inorganic supramolecular compounds in solid state (crystal engineering) which involves the self-assembly of metal ions with specific directionality and organic ligands with appropriate functional groups. To study the intermolecular interactions, X-ray crystallography is used extensively alongside computational methods that helps them reinforce and support the experimental efforts. Recently, a new orientation has been approached by her research group which is the synthesis of nano- supramolecular compounds i.e. nano-coordination polymers, and the study of their applications e.g. in medicine.
