School of Chemistry

The Chemistry program started at Dar- al Fonnon (School of Polytechnic) and later at Higher Teacher's College in 1928. Nowadays, the Chemistry building is a part of College of Science, which is one of the most notable buildings on the main University campus. Currently, the school of Chemistry of the University of Tehran is one of the top chemistry departments in Iran. The School of Chemistry offers opportunities for study Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees.   The undergraduate students learn the specific concepts of Chemistry in two majors, i.e. Pure and Applied Chemistry. Master's programs admit students in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Phytochemistry, Applied Chemistry and Nano-Chemistry; and to Ph.D. programs in the fields of Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Nano chemistry and Physical Chemistry. There are several educational and research as well as, Central laboratories in the department to help the students and researchers better learn and teach Chemistry, or conduct their research projects.
